Get up close and personal with the all-new LG VELVET 5G

It’s here! The LG VELVET 5G officially launched in South Africa on 7 July, during a Facebook Live unboxing with charismatic TV personalities, Janez Vermeiren and Nicole Bessick.

 

The pair explored its most prominent and sensual features, starting with the smooth feel of the grip, slim-line 3D Arc design and curved sides that make the device a pleasure to handle – much like the touch of velvet.

 

Janez couldn’t help but notice how light and thin the beautifully-crafted VELVET 5G is, weighing in at a nimble 180 grams. But don’t be fooled by its size, the phone is built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G processor, so it packs a whole lot of punch. It has a whopping 4,300-mAh battery and stereo speakers with auto adjustment for optimum sound delivery. The integrated 5G radios also make it a 5G phone.

The VELVET 5G  features three cameras on the back: a 48MP ultra-high resolution lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 16MP camera.

 

This device really delivers a full sensory experience, since you can use the camera and microphones for “Voice Out” focus which attempts to eliminate background noise and focuses on voices.

 

For someone like Janez, who often does voice recordings in his car, this feature really breaks new ground in content creation. What’s more, the LG 3D Sound Engine enables the phone with an ASMR mode for delicate and detailed sound recording.
