FlySafair’s New Route Boosts Tourism and Economic Growth

South Africa’s leading low-cost airline, FlySafair, has begun flying its latest direct route from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) in Mbombela. Although the route has been operational for just over a week since its formal introduction to the market on the 2 nd of August, it has already been praised by the government for its contribution to tourism. Both the new route from OR Tambo to KMIA and its sister route from Cape Town International, launched in April this year, were applauded by Minister of Tourism, Patricia De Lille, for boosting arrivals from various markets and thus growing the tourism sector's contribution to economic growth. FlySafair gives businesses a leg up with third year of Business Booster campaign

South Africa’s leading low-cost airline, FlySafair , is offering businesses a leg up with their third annual Business Booster campaign. FlySafair shares its love of flying with future generations by launching a brand new competition for schools

  Low-cost carrier FlySafair is giving away 10 return domestic flights to three schools ahead of Youth Month. The School Booster Competition invites schools around the country to share in the airline’s love of flying by submitting their motivations for consideration. “It can be a magical experience for a child stepping onto a plane for the first time,” says Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair. “For those in the aviation industry, it’s that childlike wonder that never really leaves you and we’d like to introduce young South Africans to the excitement that is flying. FlySafair hold the birthday party of the decade

  South Africa’s favourite low-cost airline is celebrating its 10 th birthday in style with the return of its infamous annual mega sale. This year, the airline will be selling a limited number of tickets for just R10, airport tax included. In the past this almost too-good-to-be-true sale has brought the country to a near stand-still as customers across the country are glued to multiple devices, hoping to be one of the lucky ones to gain access to the website and bag themselves some cheap seats. Much like previous years, FlySafair has scattered the marked down flights across all its domestic routes. The aviation and travel industries were among the hardest hit during the global pandemic. But, three years on the market  is   showing signs of  recover y . At the close of 2023 ,  the global aviation market had reached  97%  of 2019 levels  with t ourism  improving to  just under  90%  of pre-pandemic levels  worldwide . Aviation in Africa is tracking global trends closely, reaching 93% recovery by the end of 2023.  Although these figures speak to an increasingly robust industry and an end to the volatility of the past few years, there are still a number of key developments and trends which need to be considered going forward.
