Disney+ is coming to LG TVs in South Africa

The Walt Disney Company has announced that its Disney+ streaming service will be made available to South Africans on the 18th of May 2022. As of January 2022, Disney+ has nearly 130 million users and promises to provide exclusive original content and thousands of episodes and movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more. Owners of select models of LG TVs will be able to enjoy this service by simply downloading the app on the LG Content Store.

South Africans can register before the 18th of May to subscribe to the Disney+ streaming service with an exclusive introductory offer of R950 for a 12-month subscription – essentially, only paying for eight months. Users will be able to stream on up to four compatible devices at once with unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices. The service offers 4K video quality for selected titles as well as the ability to set up to seven different profiles, allowing parents to set kids’ profiles that limit access to anything other than age-appropriate content.


 

Good news for LG TV owners, the newly redesigned LG TV Magic Remote includes a Disney+ button. From just the click of a button, Disney+ subscribers can look forward to viewing many blockbuster movies and series such as Star Wars’ The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the new Marvel Studios series Moon Knight, as well as Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. Viewers should also be excited to watch several of Disney and Pixar’s Academy Award winning and nominated titles such as Luca, Encanto, and Cruella, as well as other popular shows including The Simpsons, The Kardashians, and Grey’s Anatomy – to name a few.

Owners of an LG TV can subscribe to the Disney+ service by adding the app to their TV. If your LG TV is connected to the internet, this can be done by pressing the HOME menu and selecting the LG Content Store. After finding “Disney Plus” using the search box, the app can simply be installed and launched. You will then need to log in with your credentials or sign up for a new Disney+ account, after which you can sit back, relax, and start streaming!

With so many streaming services on offer, LG is glad to announce its compatibility with the much-anticipated Disney+ platform. Owners of select LG TV models should expect hours of binge-worthy shows and movies – including 4K content – for the whole family.
